Week 8

This week at practice we haven't really haven't done anything other than defense and offense. Lately we have been doing some live hitting. When we are not live hitting we are shagging in the outfield or in the batting cages. When its not an offensive day we do defense depending on what our position is. Some of the drills we did for the infield and outfield. Other times its pitches and outfielders. So it varies on what the coaches want us to do that week. Other than that, that's what we have been doing lately. As of right now we have one fundraiser going on. We need to get golfers to participate in a tournament and pay 150$. We had just got finished giving out all the Christmas trees over the weekend. The varsity winter ball team might have a game against Loara depending on how their field is. That's whats been going on with Savanna baseball keep reading my blogs to stay updated.

Week 6

At practice we had started reseeding the infield and around it. We finished reseeding on Friday I think it was. When reseeding was going on the first day we did stations but we stayed in one station the whole practice. The guys who didn't make grades didn't get to participate in the stations. On Thursday we split into two groups of the pitchers and the rest who aren't. We started warming up then went into the bullpen. On Friday it was pitchers again and this time we worked on fielding in left field with a base. We worked on fielding the bunt, grounder, and throwing to all three of the bases. Yesterday on Monday we looked at some bats that they might wanna get for the 2014 baseball season. After we tested the bats we got into groups and did stations like pepper, soft toss, tee, wiffle balls, and the cage.

Week 5

This week at baseball practice we did the usual stretches and then into catch. We have different drills every day. On one day we can do hitting then into the weight room or fielding then conditioning it varies from what the coach says we are doing that day. Usually after practice we either go into the weight room, condition, or just go home.
We were suppose to scrimmage on Friday but had some people leave practice for an after school event for extra credit. We had somewhat of a scrimmage while others were in the batting cage taking a lot of hacks. On Monday people who didn't make grades had to clean up the field a little bit. While the people who didn't make grades couldn't play in the scrimmage we had that day whoever made grades played in the scrimmage. Lastly we also finished selling christmas trees for our first fundraiser.

Week 3

This week at practice we start off with the usually stretches and then we go into plyometrics or plyos for short. Plyos is a series of exercises based upon to get your speed to increase and your power to increase also. After plyos we go into the dugout and hang of the top for 30 seconds, this loosens your muscles in your arm. Then we play some catch which starts from on one knee then to long toss eventually. Then after we've done all the stretches we do some hitting, fielding, pitching, throwing, or throwing drills.
On Monday we had done a fielding drills with coach Cortes. The drills we did were to catch the ball with our bare hand and go into three other directions. One was at 90 degrees the other was 45 degrees and the last one was 75 degrees. After those drills we went out in the field and caught some fly balls. Then we went to the weight room and that finished practice. Tuesday we had did some live hitting and then went into the weight room.

Week 2

This week Louie and I talked to our baseball coach after practice on Thursday, we asked if it was okay for us to make the Savanna Baseball blog. He said it was okay for us to do the project. So far at practice we have been just working on hitting and some fielding and a little condintioning. Season starts in February so there is still a long way to go til season. I'm excited for season to start. We are also fundraising money for new uniforms and other equipment. We are selling christmas trees.
Last week we were getting the field ready for our first winter ball game. Out first winter ball game is against sonora. Me and my partner Louie are going to start getting the baseball website for savanna baseball set up and ready for when season starts.

Week 1

The first week of the 20% project me and my partner Louie Monzon thought about what ideas we are going to use for the project. We ended up coming up with the idea of to make a project about the Savanna baseball team and how the whole season looks like. Our idea is to make a web page with the Savanna team's stats for the season, information about the players and how they are doing, interviews with some of the players, the coaches, and etc.

The Savanna Baseball team has a history of being a dominant high school baseball team. Last year the team went 12-3 in league and was 16-13 overall. The Savanna Baseball team the past few years and so on, have had very good seasons and a Orange League Championship.

Me and my partner Louie Monzon are on the baseball team. So far all we've done is practicing and a few scrimmages. I'm looking forward to how this project is going to turn out how many people are actually going to read my blogs.
